Katiusha rockets target U.S. military base in Mosul, northern Iraq

Iraq, June 19, 2019 – The “Presidential Palace Complex” in the city of Mosul, northern Iraq, where a number of U.S. military forces are stationed, has been targeted by an attack of a single or multiple Katiusha rocket, according to several media reports.

Reuters is also reporting a rocket attack targeting the headquarters of a number of foreign oil companies in the city of Basra, southern Iraq. Exxon Mobil is one of the major companies with a branch in this important oil-rich city. Two Iraqi workers have reportedly been injured in this attack.

Tension in the Middle East are rising as these attacks follow another similar rocket attack in Baghdad fired from an area where militia groups linked to the Iranian regime are stationed, landing near the U.S. Embassy compound in the highly fortified Green Zone.

FREE ALL Labor activists in Iran

I express my strongest protest against the arrest and detention of those who participated in the gathering of May Day 2019 in Tehran. I demand the following:

♦️All the May Day detainees in Iran must be immediately and unconditionally released!
♦️All charges against labor rights activists including ‘national security’ charges must be dropped!
♦️The terror and violence against workers and their families must stop!
♦️Workers in Iran should be able to freely exercise their fundamental rights to organize, set up their own organisations, and take part in rallies, assemblies and protests, and to take part in strike action!
